Concept design for Greenpeace bar at 2019 Glastonbury Festival

This concept design explores the conception of a lightweight timber structure using mainly osb-like panels to be erected at the 2019 Glastonbury festival by the Greenpeace stage.

The main opportunity offered by the client was the sponsorship by Smartply, who offered osb-like moisture resistant timber panels in different sizes and thicknesses, that would then be cnc machined to create the structure.

The concept behind the design is to create a tree-like structure supporting a pitched roof to cover the small bar, using few and repeated flat elements that would gain stiffness by the global arrangement.

Parametric design with Rhino and Grasshopper has been used at an early stage to play with material sizing and with assembly patterns.
